Double Slice French Toast

Double Slice French Toast

A Decadent Breakfast Delight

If you're in the mood for a breakfast that's both comforting and indulgent, our double slice French toast is just the ticket. This recipe takes the classic French toast to the next level by using a rich custard mixture and a sugary, caramelized coating. The result? A breakfast that's crispy, sweet, and utterly satisfying.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 cup full cream milk
  • 1/2 cup cooking cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for the custard)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the full cream milk, cooking cream, egg yolks, vanilla essence, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Whisk the mixture until it's well combined.

  2. Pour the custard mixture into a shallow dish, like a pie plate.

  3. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil to grease the pan.

  4. Take a slice of bread and dip it into the custard mixture. Make sure it's soaked on both sides but not overly soggy. Allow any excess liquid to drip off.

  5. Place the soaked bread on the heated skillet and cook until it's golden brown and crispy, typically about 2-3 minutes on each side. You may need to adjust the heat to prevent burning.

  6. While the toast is still warm, coat it with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Make sure to coat both sides thoroughly.

  7. Repeat the same process with the remaining slices of bread.

  8. Serve your double slice French toast warm, either plain or with a drizzle of maple syrup, fresh fruits, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.

Indulge in this mouthwatering breakfast, and savor the sweet, crispy goodness of double slice French toast. It's the perfect way to start your day on a delicious note!
