How many resorts are there in the Maldives?

At the time of writing, there are over 160 resorts located in the different atolls constituting the Republic of Maldives.

The Maldives archipelago consists of 1190 tiny islands scattered across the Indian Ocean. Only 185 of these islands are inhabited, while the others are used largely for tourism and agriculture.

After the Covid pandemic, things are looking better as the number of tourist arrivals in Maldives seems to be rising continuously.

Some of the most luxurious hotels in the Maldives include the Waldorf AstoriaMovenpickPullman,  Hard Rock Café Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton,  Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa & Soneva Jani

These Internationally acclaimed brand names provide first class luxury experiences, facilities and services, entertainment and food and beverage services.

What's so unique about the Maldives Resorts?

Well for starters you get immense privacy since each resort is one entire island, separated by sea with its own reefs and lagoons. Maldives is well known around the globe for its unbeatable luxury for their visitors. They also provide numerous resorts, hotels, guest houses, and liveaboard experiences.

The Maldives resorts have implemented several eco-friendly initiatives and hence use more of solar energy rather than fuel, to reduce carbon emissions.

Is Maldives about to disappear?

Heartbreaking as it is - it's true that Maldives is getting washed away, day by day into the ocean.

The low lying islands, considered as below sea level, are one of the most vulnerable in the world, to climate change.

COP26, the Glasgow climate conference, by experts from around the world are concerned by the rapid increase in climate change.

The livelihood of the small population of the Maldives is under huge threat due to sea level rise and subsequent increased extreme weather, coastal flooding, and coral bleaching.

It may be just another bunch of small sand dunes that had disappeared the face of earth. But for the half a million people who are living in these islands for generations, it's their life, their blood, their history and heritage and more than anything else it's their home.

Most hope to achieve the best from COP26; as part of the long-term project to keep Earth as safe and habitable for as long as possible, for Earth and its people.

Peace out!

Hoping that the beautiful Maldives islands sustain it's eco-life for  generations to come.
